There is always a story behind an initiative. A website is no different.  This website follows the inspiration of two words.  

'Shared Destiny'

Why these two words?  Well if you want to know I had a dream about them. Yes. I truly, really, actually had a dream. This was no ordinary dream. No. This dream was as if I were awake, living and breathing the words in my life today.  Only when I woke up my reality was far from the idealistic world portrayed in my dream.

Essentially the message I took away from my dream is this:

As human beings we have more in common than not. We forsake establishing a common ground for the love of individualism, competition, national pride, egoic pursuits and so on.  Yet it is our ability to feel and empathize with others that helps us triumph over adversity and create from little.  On one hand it's me versus you or us versus them. On the other it's we against the elements, uncertainty, change. 

No place is this polarity more evident than in the way we work, run businesses and lead our pursuit of wealth.  

Individuals can be conscious or not.  Collective groups therefore can be conscious or not. What happens when we choose consciousness? What happens when we bring this conscious awareness to work rather than park it at the door?  

Now I could go on in detail about the dream but that would be irrelevant. It's not what happened in the dream that matters but what I say and how you respond.

So in an effort to close the gap and inspire others to move more towards an honoring of our Shared Destiny I offer this space.  The purpose of the writing, sharing and other aspects is to provide a backdrop of conversation behind the activities of our active engaging lives at work and outside of work.  

The focus of a 'shared destiny' is not on differences but common ground. It is in this spirit that hopefully this website can support people finding ways to relate to others and begin to see that when we sincerely unite around a common path we have far greater impact than on our own.
